WASHINGTON (AP) --The Food and Drug Administration is advising consumers not to purchase or use the popular erectile dysfunction drug Cialis, the top-selling erectile dysfunction drug in the United States, as it could increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The drug is one of several over-the-counter drugs that is being sold that could increase the risk for heart attacks or strokes.
The FDA has advised consumers not to buy or use Cialis as it has been linked to an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes in some patients. Cialis is sold under the brand name Vidalista.com, but the drug is also sold under the name Cialis from the Food and Drug Administration, the agency said in a statement.
Cialis, which is produced in the United States by Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, is the only brand-name drug sold under the brand name of Levitra. Cialis is the top-selling erectile dysfunction drug in the U. S. and is the third-best-selling drug in the world, behind Viagra and Spedra.
